SMTD LLP is pleased to announce the expansion of its practice to the Southwest with the opening of its newest office in Phoenix, Arizona.
SMTD LLP’s newest office will be managed by Robert J. Berens a renowned trial lawyer who represents contractors and sureties in some of the most significant litigation and bankruptcy disputes in the country. Mr. Berens is admitted to practice in Arizona, Nevada, California and Colorado and is board-certified in business bankruptcy law by the American Board of Certification and Arizona Board of Legal Specialization. Mr. Berens is also a Vice Chair of the ABA Fidelity and Surety Law Committee and a frequent speaker and author.
Joining Mr. Berens in the Arizona office is Joseph D. Estes, a talented and highly respected construction, surety, bankruptcy and commercial litigation attorney. Mr. Estes also represents developers, municipalities and contractors with all forms of real estate and development transactions, land use, zoning and municipal law issues and disputes. Mr. Estes is admitted to practice in Arizona and Nevada.
